Hello. My name is Stephan Hilbelink. I am a Web Developer and Illustrator and have worked in design since 1995. Over this time, I have worked on a wide variety of projects and some amazing people. Each different project gave its own challenge and researching and applying the best style for the project was priority one. A majority of my work is digital, but I am always happy to return to a pencil or brush when needed. If you want to know more about my work, the About and Work sections are what you want.

The Tools and Misc. sections are to share helpful resources. I enjoying finding an helpful app or mod, so why not pass these gems on to others who are interested.

Since 1994, I have worked on a wide variety of projects from pro-bono to Fortune 500 companies. I have designed over 300 now and consulted on many others. Many great people have been a part of my career as well. They pushed my abilities and gave opportunities to work with some amazing clients. Without these people, I could not be the artist I am now.

I enjoy the challenge of a logo, design or illustration. My biggest dilemma is working on illustrations for fun. I have a huge list of subjects. Thankfully, I have my sketchbook to keep the ideas alive until scan time.

On the personal side, I enjoy classic cartoons, art history, archery, home-brewing, kayaking, playing banjo and the many music genres that are on my iPod.

When it comes to creative inspiration, it can come from almost anywhere. It is important to keep these founts of revelation close so that when you begin to lose the juices you can refer to it. Keep your bookmarks organized, sketchbooks on a shelf, and your observation notes with you.

Sharing ideas and creative thoughts help make everyone's work better. If you have any that should be on my list, feel free to the link.

When it comes to inspiration, any medium can help. A trip to the museum can kick an idea out. A quiet paddle on a lake can jog the key to designs. The web is a great resource, but there is a much bigger place to drawn from right out your front door.

  • Some of the best idea resources are those that make your machine unique. Icons, desktops, and themes allow anyone to personalize their machines. There are many outstanding sites for these resources and since almost everyone like to tweak their machine, this list will only grow. I am amazed at the creativity that comes out so that someone can have their computer stand out.

I hope to add a few of my own experiments in the future, but in the meantime, I keep my eyes open for these great founts of creativity. If you have any I should add, please your favorites.
